Space and time in the context of social measurement

    Get PDF
This paper discusses some of the basic philosophical concepts – the concepts of “space and time” - and their relation to social evolution. The work presents the characteristics of social forms of space and time, shows the specifics of their formation in connection with human activity and the system of social relations. It was found that time duration has different manifestations in the context of historically different cultural epochs. Acceleration of social time takes place in the course of human historical practice development. Meanwhile, some social systems sometimes take the form of a certain deceleration in time. This usually occurs because of the inadequacy of the control system for the capabilities of the social organism. Social space is primarily connected with the dynamics of changes in social bonds and relationships. In the process of historical formation of social systems, social space assumes a more complex structure and expands. In the period of globalization growth, social space takes the form of a truly global integral system.peer-reviewe

The organisation of the university educational process requires a high availability of educational and scientific literature, which implies the high quality of the preparation of educational and teaching aids, reference materials and scientific publications. However, one can note a change in the technologies of premedia and printing processes, optimisation of the activity of publishing offices and, as a result, a drop in the quality of published printed matter. In 2019 a quantitative analysis of preparation of conference materials for publication was conducted on the basis of the Ural University Publishing House. According to this analysis, one can argue that the quality of the publishing product depends on the ratio of prepress volumes and timelines, the quality of materials provided to the publishing house, the responsibility of the authors and members of the editorial board, their readiness to work within a short time period, etc. According to the documents, the editorial board ensures the quality of scientific publications, which in this case consists of four Grand PhDs and two PhDs; in fact, the quality of the content left much to be desired. Separately, the quality of preparation of the bibliographic apparatus should be noted. In this case, the editorial preparation of the bibliography was carried out by a library employee in an extremely limited time (two days). It was done in order to bring the bibliographic description to some uniformity-there was no discussion on compliance with All-Union State Standards 7.1.-2003 and 7.05-2008. There was also a shift of areas of responsibility when the preparation of separate elements of a scientific article (for example, the bibliographic description) is not planned in advance, but becomes spontaneous and, as a result, entails a partial reimposition of the manuscript. The priorities of the practical model of preparing a university publication have changed significantly. The publication of conference proceedings prioritises releasing the publication at a certain time (by the beginning of a scientific event), which jeopardises the quality of its prepress. When preparing a university publication in tight deadlines, functions are redistributed, and professional communication has its features: both the authors and the publishers do not have the necessary conditions for an effective interaction in order to prepare a high-quality scientific publication. Most definitions of a scientific and educational book emphasise its task, properties, functions, role as a means of communication of the professional community and a method of transmitting relevant information. It seems that a university publication, like no other, should prioritise the quality of prepress and, therefore, should be planned ahead. © 2020 Tomsk State University - Faculty of Philology. Objective: Our research focuses on the endothelial protective effects of 2,6-diisobornyl-4-methylphenol. Its effect was revealed while studying rats experiencing myocardial ischemia/reperfusion. The research results demonstrated that there are significant disturbances in the vascular endothelium manifested by a decrease in the vasodilating activity and antiplatelet properties of 2,6-diisobornyl-4-methylphenol. Methods: We designed our own model of myocardial ischemia/reperfusion and applied it to 52 adult outbred Wistar males. We employed some methods of hemostasiological research such as thromboelastography to determine the antiplatelet activity of the vascular wall, G. Born nephelometric method to study platelet aggregation, phase contrast microscopy to count platelet counts in blood plasma, measurement of intra-arterial pressure to study the endothelial vasodilating function, and calculated the endothelial dysfunction coefficient in rats. Results: Preventive intragastric injection of 2,6-diisobornyl-4-methylphenol (100 mg/kg, 3 days before and 5 days after reproducing the myocardial ischemia/reperfusion model) increased the antiplatelet activity of the vascular endothelium in rats by 37% compared to the endothelium of the abdominal aorta segment of untreated animals. Moreover, 2,6-diisobornyl-4-methylphenol decreased the endothelial dysfunction coefficient by 43% in comparison with the value in the control group. Conclusion: 2,6-diisobornyl-4-methylphenol has an endothelial protective effect proved by its ability to increase antiplatelet properties of the endothelium and decrease the endothelial dysfunction coefficient. The revealed endothelial protective properties of 2,6-diisobornyl-4-methylphenol can be regarded as one of the potential mechanisms of cardioprotective activity of the drug

Atrial standstill in the newborn: a case report

    Get PDF
Introduction. Persistent atrial standstill is a rare syndrome characterized by absence of mechanical and electrical atrial activity. The article presents a unique case of atrial standstill in the newborn patient with tachyarrhythmia.Brief description. The first manifestation of atrial standstill in the patient was heart failure (HF) manifestations and wide-complex tachycardia according to electrocardiography, which was identified as ventricular tachycardia. At the local outpatient clinic, the child was prescribed with antiarrhythmic therapy (AAT), which decreased heart rate. Three months later, a transesophageal electrophysiological study was carried out in our center in order to determine the arrhythmia origin. A multiform idioventricular rhythm with a heart rate of 46-119 beats per min was diagnosed, atrial pacing spike (A waves) was not recorded. Given bradyarrhythmia, hemodynamic abnormalities on echocardiography (significant atrial enlargement, decreased contractility), the patient, in order to prevent the risk of sudden cardiac death, underwent implantation of single chamber pacemaker in VVIR mode and bipolar ventricular lead. Anticoagulant therapy was prescribed. After 6-month follow-up, relief of HF symptoms and an increase in left ventricular contractile function was noted.Discussion. Timely diagnosis and implantation of pacemakers allowed avoiding AAT and minimizing the HF symptoms. Continuous ventricular pacing and anticoagulant therapy are important in HF prevention
